Updated instructions on when and what to run during the NEMI Campaign.

Duty schedule: Note that the on-duty names have been removed. Instead there's "FI" if our campaign must run the respective experiment. The operators included in that are all Finnish team members at Tromsø plus Alexander, Anasuya and Eoghan. Please decide among yourselves how to share the workload. Important: please replace the FI by the initials of the operator when you have decided. Alternatively, tell the co-ordinator and he'll change the page. Thanks!

Read carefully! The times of the UHF and VHF experiments change from day to day!

UHF experiment: if active aurora, run arc1; if energetic precipitation, run manda; if quiet, run beata. This applies only if several options are listed for a given evening run. Note further, that all UHF runs in January are monostatic (Tromsø only; marked as TRO), and all UHF runs in February are tristatic (incl. remote sites; marked UHF)!

HEAT mode: tau2pl field aligned monostatic (for subcritical consitions); arc1 field aligned monostatic (for active conditions); pparc (or something similar) - a modification of arc1, field aligned, monostatic - if ready. (from Nickolay, 2008-01-24, 12:14 UTC; ed: "pparc" is for Power-Profile-arc experiment and has nothing to do with the now defunct research council!)

FPI mode: Common volume at 240 km above KEOPS, i.e. 240 km above 67° 52.35′ N, 21° 1.85′ E. Use scan file called tristatic_pattern.elan at Tromsø in /kst/exp/scans/kst/uk/. The pulse code is tau2pl. (from Anasuya, 2008-01-24, 13:41 UTC)

Optics at TRO:

Oulu cameras imaging magnetic zenith. Scanning photometer pointing in the magnetic meridian plane for NEMI and over KEOPS for FPI (see paper logbook). ALIS in andoya position for NEMI, eiscat2 position for hot_arc and core position for FPI. Operated by CFE.

Sun, 2008-01-27:

Tero and Carl-Fredrik via Karesuvanto and Kilpisjärvi to Tromsø (Land Cruiser).
Esa and Antti to Tromsø (Passat).


Mon, 2008-01-28:

UTC 0800: Timo leaves for Kilpisjärvi and then on to Tromsø.
LT 1720: Esa flies to Andøya.  Return flight depends on rocket.
         DROP OFF NEEDED!

Tero returns to Kilpisjärvi to meet Timo.  Tero keeps Passat.
