Capabilities of the SGO's SST

The SGO's SST radar offers:

- 24/7 monitoring for orbits for altitudes between 300 km and 3000 km which translates to the whole LEO class, and the beginning of the medium-Earth orbit (MEO) class

- Surveillance and tracking capability

- Maintaining a space object catalog

- Geographic location: Northern latitudes provide an excellent vantage point for monitoring and tracking satellites and space debris

- Monitoring of polar and near-polar orbits

- The northern location of the observatory provides excellent measurements and monitoring of space weather phenomena which are known to affect the orbital parameters of space objects.
